I had an original inguinal hernia surgery done laproscopically in 2002. It turned out that I had continued pain from this surgery because the surgeon did not properly fix the mesh. A repair was done open and a new surgeon discovered another hernia in 2005. It wasn't until April of this year that I had an experienced laproscopic surgeon go back in and discover that the mesh was not in the correct space it was supposed to be. He removed most of this mesh and placed a new mesh just above the intestines where the peritoneum was supposed to cushion the mesh from the intestines. This worked perfect for about 10 days and then gradually, I started to develop pain from this procedure. He went back in about 3 weeks ago with a diagnostic laproscopic procedure and removed adhesions. He said if it continues to bother me or the pain come back he could go back in and use a film called Serprfilm which is inserted laproscopically. Can anybody comment about this or does anyone know of a top laproscopic surgeon who has done this? I understand it is a very difficult procedure because Seprafilm is hard to work with.
