Pelvic pain symptoms

First I have not been diagnosed with having adhesion's. My family doctor recommended that I have another catscan to check my pelvic region out because I am still complaining of pain. The pain could be described as an achy, colicky, pressure, uncomfortable feeling in my pelvic region below my pelvic bone, also in my lower back. Nausea and stomach pain can accompany it as well as headaches. It can be aggravated when i walk a lot. But it does get aggravated when I am just sitting. Heat does help and if I take enough aleve.

First I tried many different alternatives before having a hysterectomy . My gyn tried birth control pills, Lupron, pain meds, seeing a gastrologist and getting evaluated. I did have a laprocopy in 1990 for ovarian cysts, 1992 for ovarian cyst and endometriosis and 2002 which showed nothing . Hearing my history she referred me to a specialist.. She referred me to Dr. Mc Carus at Celebration Hospital . I saw him and was examined. He said my best bet was a vaginal hysterectomy(uterus and cervix) He noted a retroverted uterus that was probably causing the pain. Which also included pain during intercourse. I waited and then I got on the schedule and had it done June 2006. My sharp pain from having periods was gone. But not my pelvic pain. He recommended I see another doctor ie: gastrologist. I did had a catscan in 2006, clear. I had a colonoscopy 2006, few benign polyps that was removed and they were fine. MRI in 2006 which was clear.

I only saw Dr. once before my surgery. It was a huge leap for me. But I really liked my GYN and she recommended him. Since then I have not been back except for the 6 week ck up. It is a long trip from here(New Port Richey Fl).

I think you can sympathize with me when I say the idea of another surgery is very scary. I put all my eggs in one basket for the last one. Here I am still in pain.

Thank you Jane for sharing your history. As we discussed, the chances of you having more adhesions and possible some that involves your intestines can be high due to the history of your surgeries. We will do our best to help you figure out why you are still having pain.
Thank you for your interest in our program.
