Constant Abdominal Pain

My boyfriend has been suffering from abdominal pain for about 7 years. His first attack was in New orleans after eating crawfish, with abdominal pain, vomiting which landed him in the emergency room. Since he has had these ongoing attacks they gradually began happening every few months. About 5 years ago he had his appendix out and a year later his gallbladder. 2 years ago he began getting the attacks about every other month. He has been to over 5 different GI specialist and has paid out of pocket for an endoscopy and all his visits. About 6 months ago he got health insurance and in November they admitted him for a week. They ran all types of urine and blood test and a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy showed about 15 pills he was taking from a GI doctor in his small intestine in the opeing of the colon which they removed and told him not to take any pills since he does not diccolve them. Since then he has been on liquid oxycodone and had dissolvable zofran tablets for when he has an attack, but when he does nothing works. He has had numerous exrays, and cat scans, almost everytime he is in the er. he has swallowed the endo capsule and had blood work done by Promethius Labs for IBD and all the doctors say he is healthy. Since January he has been in the er every 2 weeks to every week. He wakes up every morning in constant pain where he is hurled over in a ball and usually takes a hot shower and lays on a heating pad. he has hardly eaten because after he eats something as little as applesaue or jello he throws up. Since this began 7 years ago he has lost app 40 pounds, he does not drink alcohol or any caffenitaed beverages. He also perfusly sweats at night where he wakes up dripping wet and he perfusly sweats when he has these attacks but he never has a fever. He drinks water and gatorade. He does not have appetite and when he does he can not eat too much. For a guy he does not have a good appetite. So far he has over $100,000 in medical bills. It has come to the point where we can not plan a vacation and are always cancelling plans becasue he is sick. We really don't go out to dinner because he is afraid to eat and he is afraid to go to sleep to wake up and be sick. He does not want to be on oxycodone for ever and he just wants to be normal. If anyone has any insight or suggestions please let us know, we are so frustrated and just don't know what to do anymore and I hate seeing him always in so much pain and so upset. Thank you for listening! Malinda
