Jay Redan, minimally invasive surgery

Jay Redan, MD

A pioneer in the field of minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Redan has traveled the world teaching and training doctors from several countries about the benefits of this form of surgery. He has published widely and also serves as a consultant, lecturer and instructor for several laparoscopic surgical instrument manufacturers. In addition, Dr. Redan serves on the editorial staff of the Journal of the society of Lapareoendoscopic Surgeons and the Trocar, Online Videojournal of Gynecolgoic and Surgical Laparoscopy.

Dr. Redan received his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Medicine & Dentistry N.J. Medical School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard.

Steven McCarus, MD

Steven D. McCarus, M.D. offers innovative treatment for abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic/uterine fibroids, pelvic endometriosis, ovarian cysts and pelvic pain. Laparoscopic (minimally invasive surgery) surgery is his specialty and he is the inventor of The McCarus Technique which helps achieve even better outcomes in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. McCarus has trained hundreds of physicians around the country in laparoscopic surgery and is a frequent guest instructor at hospitals, medical schools and medical conferences around the country. He is Chief of The Division of Gynecologic Surgery and Director of The Center for Pelvic Health at Florida Hospital Celebration Health.

Kathy Y. Jones, M.D.

Kathy Y. Jones, M.D., is a member of the Womens Pelvic Surgery Center of Orlando, a private practice dedicated to female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She also serves as the Co-Director of the Advanced Gynecologic Endoscopy Fellowship at the Florida Hospital in Celebration, FL.

Dr. Jones obtained her doctorate from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York University Medical Center and received her fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Wayne State University/Hutzel Hospital, Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI. She returned to Orlando area in 1999 and has devoted her practice to care of women with pelvic floor defect problems, urinary incontinence and painful bladder syndrome.

Additionally, Dr. Jones is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the, the American Urogynecologic Society, American Medical Association, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Gynecologic Society for Uterine Disorders.

Dr. Jones lectures on topics including new advances in pelvic reconstructive surgery, tension-free slings and minimally invasive integrated mesh repairs for prolapse.

The recipient of prestigious awards such as the CREOG National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education, the Lewis Shenker Memorial Award and the Trainee Investigator Award, Dr. Jones' credentials have earned her many research grants and academic appointments.
